For years I was frustrated with tree stand hunting due to all the work involved in picking the correct tree and spot. It always seemed I would find the perfect tree but the view was terrible. Ultimately, I would have to settle for a crooked tree, bad view or a spot I never even wanted. The crooked tree and/or bad view would leave me to the adventures of clearing my shooting lane. Being one who always makes life harder than it has to be, this would always prove to be a mission in itself. First, set up the tree stand. Then proceed to the tree next to my tree stand, at which time I would use screw-in steps to make my way up that tree. All in an effort to clear the limbs that could potentially block my perfect shot. I eventually got so sick of the additional work I started using those huge pruning poles. If you've ever used one of those, you know how awkward and difficult they are to use. Finally, I resorted to just climbing the trees by grabbing branches and "shimmy" my way up the tree to accomplish the unavoidable task of pruning.
The original wooden Way Out Trimmer was such a success for me in the woods I continued to use it for 4 years. The only down fall was that all the guys in my hunt club wanted to use it too. Even my neighbor borrowed it to trim branches around his house. I was approached on several occasions by my hunt club members as well as other friends with the request to build more extenders. With those around me so interested in my new favorite accessory I set my wheels of creativity into motion and began Go Way Out. First and foremost, hats off to carpenters. They have the patience of saints! With the amount of work involved in making the wooden prototype, I just knew there had to be a better way of making the Way Out Trimmer. It was about that time I crossed paths with Teri Ward of Integrated Plastic Solutions. She has helped Go Way Out tremendously with her design and building skills. It was official. Go Way Out was on its way to introducing and providing hunters with accessories to ensure they will never miss that monster buck. And the rest is history… |
